Bellator is coming to Japan, and they’re letting everybody know about it.
The promotion released a poster featuring the Statue of Liberty making its way onto Japanese shores with Mount Fuji looming in the distance, a fitting image given that soon it will be Bellator’s fighters invading foreign shores as they prepare for a pair of year-end cards.
Bellator & RIZIN: Japan takes place on Dec. 29 at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, currently headlined by a heavyweight bout between PRIDE legends Fedor Emelianenko and Quinton Jackson. A 160-pound catchweight rematch between Michael Chandler and Benson Henderson will also be featured on the card.
Then on Dec. 31, RIZIN 20 takes place at the same venue. Bellator and RIZIN bantamweight champion Kyoji Horiguchi looks to avenge a stunning non-title knockout loss to Kai Asakura with Horiguchi’s RIZIN belt on the line this time, and longtime Bellator veteran Patricky Freire aims for his second straight win in Japan when he takes on Luiz Gustavo in a Lightweight Grand Prix semifinal bout.
